Letters to the Beloved Showcase

On February 20, a blessed group gathered in Ottawa to read letters of love to the Beloved ﷺ. It quickly became what participants started to call "a love-fest."  Praise God for taking our love to a whole new level that special night! May we be blessed with many more nights of rapture with the Beloved ﷺ.

If you have loved, you have won.

If you have loved, you have won.

Assalam alaykum!  Dear Parents and Teachers, thank you for making it possible for your children to be part of this noble experience of writing to the Messenger ﷺ.  We were so honored to sit last night, for four hours - right up to midnight - reading through the letters written by young hands. Reflections on Ramadan and Eid

By Ahmad Luqman Years ago, I went on my first legitimate stargazing outing. My sister was visiting from out of town and one of her friends, who was an amateur astronomer, drove us to an observatory an hour or so outside of the city limits. We had to drive far enough away from the city’s bright lights (they actually call it light pollution) which ma

Da’wah: Invitation or Colonization?

By Mustafa Laurence We are living in particular times. Spirituality is encouraged in our society yet it must remain in the sphere of the private. The Human Rights discourse promotes religious pluralism yet encourages a strong separation between religion and state. As Muslims living in non-Muslim lands, we are constantly thinking about ways to engag

Boston: Searching for solace

When I heard of the horrific events in Boston this week, a rush of emotions came over me: shock, disbelief, and overwhelmingly – sorrow. I searched for answers in reports and images of the blasts, the carnage, the panic, the heroism, and the tears. But really, I only came away with painful questions that tugged at my core. Who would do such a thing
